Life is all about perspective! Isn't it? If you think about it, isn't everything life about your perspective! When circumstances arise in your life you have a choice as to how you see it. You have a chance to change your perspective on how you will let it effect your life. We've all heard the saying "Is your glass half empty or half full?" It's all in how you look at things! One of my favorite quotes is by Dr Wayne Dyer "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change!" It's amazing how one small shift can make such a HUGE difference in everything you do.
We have the ability each and every day to decide how things will effect us. When you truly embrace this idea it opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
A recent example in my life, I applied for a job with a company. They asked me to consider a certain project that they were hiring for, great pay! The catch, no benefits and it was temporary. However they would pay for me to become licensed through the state to sell health insurance and the license would be good for two years. So I began studying! I took the test, failed! I took it again, failed! I was told by several people, "Don't worry sometimes it takes people 4 or 5 times!" I had one final time to take it before the deadline was up. I took it again....failed! I sat in my chair looking at my score and thought to myself "Okay Yvette you have a choice! Is this going to devastate you or cause you to grow." I walked out, talked to my recruiter told her that I truly wanted to work for the company but for whatever reason this information was not sticking. She told me she'd see what she could do and call me. I drove home knowing I'd done my best. The next day I received a call and was offered two different positions. Best part? They were both full time with benefits! Not only do I know that I am being blessed and watched over, I know that by choosing into the perspective that I did my best and holding my head high I was given the opportunity that I have before me.
I am so grateful to all of my friends, mentors and coaches who have taught me this beautiful tool! It takes practice, and we know that anything worth doing takes practice! So my friend, what's your perspective going to be?
